Insulated Garage Doors and Integrated Kitchen Appliances For Urban Living

For most urban and city settings, space has always been an issue for its premium. The lack or limitation of space in highly urbanized areas is a reality. As more people migrate to cities in order to find work, the need for residential living increases. Floor area sizes have shrank from around 15% in the last ten years. Though this has made living conditions smaller, it has also allowed innovation from architects, interior designers, and manufacturing companies. While horizontal space is limited, the increase of vertical space is now being seen. In short, things have become narrower and longer. Cross utilization of existing space has also become popular. Garages which were once used mainly as carports have been cross utilized by some as work areas and by others as an alternative living area, a sort of guest room if not office space, and cars have taken a back seat as they now sometimes stay outside of the garage. Because of this new technologies have been introduced even in garage doors.

The need for insulation in garages has become apparent as they now become living and working spaces for some. Correspondingly, insulated garage doors have become popular, almost mandatory in new housing developments in order to cope with the demand for cross utilization of space. The garage designs itself have also changed in a variety of ways. Additional vertical space is added in order to have a loft above the garage. Garage door materials have also changed and having polyester doors and eco friendly garage doors, which are made from recycled material and are dent proof are becoming popular as well.

The need for more space in a space limited environment has also caused design changes in the interiors of homes. Kitchen spaces which were normally specifically set apart from the houses have now been integrated seamlessly to the living rooms and laundry room. Integrated washing machines and semi integrated washing machines are just examples of how technology has adapted for the lack of space. Integrated washing machines are front loading, quiet, energy and water saving equipment designed to fit in the lower kitchen cabinet complete with matching covers and all. Semi integrated washing machines have combined the dish washer and the washing machine into one piece of equipment which fit perfectly into the kitchen. Even kitchen design has evolved from its basic white color to being modular, trendy and integrating with any modern household.

The invention for all such items is the product of the necessity and for as long as land is a vital and limited commodity in any city, such inventions and trends will continue to happen.
